Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Member for Chisholm Gladys Liu met with Atmo Biosciences CEO Malcolm Hebblewhite during a visit to Atmo’s manufacturing partner Planet Innovation last week.

The PM was fascinated to hear how Atmo is helping to unlock the mysteries of the human gut and improve diagnosis and treatment for common gastrointestinal disorders, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

The visit came on the back of the federal budget, which included an announcement about the introduction of a Patent Box tax incentive, whereby businesses Australian businesses will pay lower tax rates on profits generated by locally developed and patented biotechnology and medical innovations – an initiative Atmo will benefit from in the future.
